Introduction

One of the tasks for the INDICSER project is to extend the EU KLEMS database, which was last updated in November 2009 (data to 2007). The first task described in this document was the breakdown of the data to a lower level of industry-detail. The November 2009 release contained data for 31 industries only. To chart developments in services industries with a useful degree of detail, data at the level of 72 industries will be necessary. For the variables of output, value added and employment this breakdown has been made. In this document we describe the methodology and the various steps taken to make this breakdown. The data-sets are accessible at the EU KLEMS website (http://www.euklems.net/) and called the March 2011 update. This website is the best place to ensure maximum visibility of the work as it used frequently by the many users of the EU KLEMS database.
