Abstract

This paper is a follow up to Goerlich (2011), in which we presented the basic methodology for constructing Health Capital series following the ideas of Cutler and Richardson (1997, 1998, 1999). In this paper, the methodology is illustrated with an application to Spain. Further problems, related with implementation, are discussed and a given decision is taken in order to make some progress from an empirical point of view. The possibility of extending the estimates is eventually discussed.
