Innovation strategy in the health sector and some recommendations for the European Union

Introduction

This report discusses recommendations for the realisation and enhancement of innovation environment in the health sector in view of the specific features of their innovation structures and processes while taking into account the innovation strategies and conditions in the EU. Firstly, innovation and its role for sustainable development is discussed. After the role of innovation in the health sector is explained, the next section reviews innovation drivers in the health sector. The final section discusses recommendations for an innovation strategy in the health sector.
